     Omo Valley Tours offer unique local-led tribal and ethnic visits, exclusively exploring the southern Omo region of Ethiopia.

Fitsum Ashebir, the founder of ‘Omo Valley Tours’ was born and raised in the heart of the Omo Valley. Thus, apart from our reliable services we provide, we pride ourselves on our deep knowledge and understanding for the tribes and cultures of the people and their communities. This offers travellers an intimate insight and enriching Omo Valley cultural exchange. 

The guides have a unique fluency in the languages of the different tribes; Omo Valley Tours sensitivity and respect for the tribal chiefs and their families has secured a trusting relationship with the people, resulting in a beneficial experience for all. We’ve guided a range of travellers through these regions including researchers, anthropologists and photographers. 

 We will assist you in discovering the most ethnically diverse cultures, customs and ceremonial events, including the most isolated areas of the Omo Valley. Discover the farmers, artesian and skilled craftsmen maintaining their ancestral traditions and workmanship. Using our local knowledge and experience, we consult and design remote and less travelled routes to meet your specific needs.

Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa. City Tour. Overnight hotel.
Day 2: Drive to Abyata , Shala and Langano lakes, overnight hotel Awassa
Day 3: Drive to Wolaita, Chanacha (Dorze people). Overnight hotel in Arbaminch.
Day 4: Nechisar National Park and Chamo Lake excursion. Overnight Arbaminch.
Day 5: Drive to Turmi via Konso visiting Konso people. Drive to Woito to visit the Tsemay people and Erbore people and villages. Overnight stay in Turmi.
Day 6: Visit the Hammer tribe possibly enjoying bull jumping ceremony.
Day 7: Drive to Omorate on the banks of the Omo River to visit the Dassanech tribe. Overnight stay in Turmi.
Day 8: Drive to Korcho to visit the Karo tribe. Overnight Murulle.
Day 9: Omorate for Dassanech people and villages. Backto Turmi forOvernight.
Day 10: Visit the Mursi tribe famous for their women’s clay lip plates. Overnight in Jinka. Day 11: Visit Konso village and overnight Arbaminch Hotel.
Day 12: Drive to Borena tribe visiting El Sod crater from where Borena men extract salt . Overnight in Yabello.
Day 13: Drive to the rift valley lake of Awasa. Overnight stay in Awassa.
Day 14: Early morning visit to the fish market. Drive back to Addis. Dinner in with traditional dancing. Overnight stay inhotel.
Day 15: Departure
