DAY 1: MONDAY : ADDIS ABABA – JINKA-TURMI

We'll pick you up at Jinka Airport and make a brief stop at Besha Restaurant for a tour review, snack, and to freshen up. Afterward, we'll drive straight to Turmi, which is about a 2-hour journey. Along the way, we'll visit the Omo Regional Market, held every Monday, where tribes such as Ari, Tsemai, Hamar, and Benna come together to trade crafts, jewelry, spices, and more. It's a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in local culture and observe the vibrant interactions between different tribes. This afternoon we will witness the bull jumping, a traditional rite of passage marking the transition from boyhood to manhood. Watch as young adolescents bravely leap over the backs of bulls, surrounded by cheering family members and hundreds of spectators. If bull jumping isn't happening that day, we'll instead visit the largest Hamar village to immerse ourselves in their daily life. Hamar women, known for their prominent cheekbones, wear copper necklaces adorned with intricate handmade beads. The Hamar people are sociable and open to interaction. Note: Please note that while Monday is typically the day of the week when bull jumping is likely to occur, it is not guaranteed to take place every Monday. DAY 2: TUESDAY: TURMI –KARO-MURSI

Set out early to arrive at Korcho, a Kara village along the Omo River, renowned for its intricate floral decorations and artistic body chalk paintings, symbols of their rich cultural heritage. Immerse yourself in Kara traditions as you sip coffee in a traditional hut, listening to captivating stories passed down through generations. Engage with elders and tribeswomen to gain deeper insight into their unique way of life. Afterwards, return to Turmi for lunch. After lunch, we'll drive 4 hours to Mursi. Our staff will have already set up camp upon our arrival. We'll visit several local villages upon reaching Mursi, with activities continuing into the next morning.
