OMO VALLEY TRIBS AND RIFT VALLEY LAKES(10 DAYS)

The Lower Omo Valley was designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1980 due to its unique cultural and physical value to the world at large. In this valley, unlike everywhere else on the planet, there are so many different tribes and cultures. The terrain was characterized as a "Museum of People" by Carlo Conti Rossini, the first foreigner to explore the area.Over millennia, it has served as a crossroads for humanity travelling in many directions.

visit MERKATO the largest open air market in Africa, the national museum ,st George church. Overnight Addis Ababa

Day 2

Drive to Arbaminch via hosanna , photo stops at GURAGHE and wolyta village Over night Arbaminch

Day 3

Drive to Jinka, admiring the Konso, Derashe, Tsemay, Ari and Benna people. Make a stop to visit Konso people, which are famous for the terracing agriculture, way of life in the villages, traditions and more. Over night JINKA

Day 4

Mago national park and continue to Mursi people and villages after noon back to JINKA, Hike to ARI village and town overnight JINKA .

Drive to TURMI via Kako, keyafer and Dimeka arrive at turmi at evening and admire Hamers EVANGADI(night dance) overnight TURMI

Day 6

Driveto visit the Karo people, for their very interesting decoration and scarification all over their body at the bank of omo river. After noon visit hammers marriage ceremonies(Bull jumping) over night in Turmi

Day 7

Drive to Erobore visits Erobore’s tribs and villages and proceed to ARBAMINCH via WEYTO overnight Arbaminch

Day 8

boat on Chamo lake for crocodiles (biggest in Africa- 6 mts long), hippos and birds after noon drive to chencha, for the dorze tribs. Overnight camping at dorze village

Day 9

drive to the Rift Valley lakes of Shala & Abyata for birds, views, hot springs. Overnight Langano

Day 10

Relax Langano (Possibility of trekking, bird-watching, horse-riding, boat excursion, cycling, and more). Lunch. Afternoon drive back to Addis
